Sony DSC-TX55: Thinnest in the World
Sony has just launched another new Cybershot compact camera series, Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55.
Sony claims this camera as the world’s thinnest pocket camera at this time with only about 12.2 mm thick, or about 0.5 inches, slightly different with the iPhone 3GS with 12.3 mm thick.
Sony DSC-TX55 offers pretty interesting specifications. This pocket camera has Exmor R sensor that is able to produce 16.2 mega pixel sized images.
It uses a wide lens, 26mm (35mm camera equivalent) and has 5x optical zoom capability. The lenses also have the “optical image stabilization” feature to help reduce the vibration when taking pictures or recording video.
The camera is also capable of recording video up to full HD resolution with the AVCHD format. And to facilitate the user, the Sony DSC-TX55 provides Super Auto feature that helps choose the settings that fit with the photos that will take.
This camera has 3.3 inch OLED touch screen that fulfill the back of the camera so it does not leave room for any button. For storage media, Sony DSC-TX55 can use a Memory Stick Micro or Micro SD/SDHC.
Regarding availability, the Sony DSC-TX55 will be present to the market around next September with the estimated price of US$ 350. It’s available in black, silver, purple, and red.
