Some time ago, Nvidia GeForce GTX580M crowned as the fastest notebook graphics card on earth, but not long after, AMD released a product that managed to beat it prowess, the Radeon HD 6990M.

AMD Radeon HD 6990M has now been crowned as the fastest Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) that beat the Nvidia GeForce GTX580M with a total performance up to 25% better. At least, that is the results of testing conducted by AMD.

AMD Radeon HD 6990M is an upgraded version of the Radeon HD 6970M, which is also armed with several features like HD3D technology, Eyefinity multi-display technology, and DirectX 11.

This latest GPU is reinforced with 1120 units of stream processors, 56 texture units, 128 Z/Stencil units, 32 ROP, and memory capacity of 2GB 900MHz GDDR5. All of that is maximized with the data path width of 256-bits.

It is said that Dell Alienware M18x will be the first notebook to use this GPU in CrossFireX mode. Then followed by several brands such as Clevo and Eurocom.
